How to measure truck driver recruiting sources beyond cost per lead

A cheap lead is not always a good lead. The useful question is which source produces qualified drivers who start and stay.

Start with one source record

Keep the original source and campaign on every driver record. Without that connection, later hires and retention cannot be traced back to recruiting spend.

Measure the full journey

For each source, compare leads, contacted drivers, applications, qualified drivers, orientations, and hires. Add cost per lead and cost per hire to understand efficiency.

Add retention checkpoints

Check whether hires remain active after 30, 60, 90, and 120 days. A source with fewer hires may create more value if those drivers stay longer.

Read growth and decline correctly

When results change, find the stage that changed first. Fewer leads is a source problem; slower contact may be a capacity problem; lower qualification may be a targeting problem.
